The half shaft is an important structural part for the rear axle of the car to be subjected to torque and a certain impact force, and is one of the main components for transmitting power. The half shaft is subjected to huge friction during the working process. We usually use high-frequency induction hardening equipment to quench and heat-treat it to improve its hardness, wear resistance and service life.

The half shaft quenching layer is generally between 2.5-5mm, and the hardness reaches 45-58HRC after quenching. It is quenched and heat-treated by a high-frequency induction hardening equipment. The heating temperature is 840-860°C, and then water is used as the cooling medium for cooling and heat treatment. The cooling water flow rate is not less than 10m/s, and the surface compressive stress of the workpiece after quenching can reach 700- 800MPa, after tempering at 250°C, it will drop to 400-500MPa.
